Resale shop computer...have what appears to be the entire wordperfect program, but I can't start it?

Please help me before I do something I'll regret!!!Like clean-disk it! I go into programs and it appears the entire WordPerfect 11 program is in tact but I don't know how to start it . All files come up in doent form. Obviously, I am somewhat illiterate as far as the computer...but I'm a quick learner and will try anything to get this working.
