Is President Bush a "Commander Guy" or does his ideology trump his Generals opinions?

The commander guy gets what he wants at any cost. He doesn't give a whit about the Generals and what they think. His vast military experience(TX national guard and AWOL at that), of course, trumps their experience of 20 to 30 years.
