What happens if you break a Neon?

I had blue neon's under my car and today when I was backing out of my garage the penger side neon got loose and fell down and I ran it over by mistake. I checked my car and everything was ok on it besides the fact I had a broken neon to clean up so I just swept it up and put it in a trash bag by itself and then put the bag in a box. Afterwards my attention got drawn away and I didn't have time to wash my hands like I know I should have and about 3-4 hours later I ate and after that I realized I still didn't wash my hands, I don't know if this is bad or not? When the neon broke it was kinda rainy and cold outside and they haven't been on in weeks and when the tube broke there didn't seem to be any liquid coming out of the tube and I didn't see any liquid on my hands either, all I saw was what appeared to be a broken white container inside the plastic tube that held it all together. I guess what I am trying to ask is what happens if you break a neon and is there a certain amount of exposure that you must make with it before you should be concerned? Please no answers saying go to a doctor or anything cause I am only writing this out of curiousity.
