I need some help with ogies in a poem....please?

In the poem "The ***** speaks of Rivers" by Langston Hughes what are some ogies that hughes could have used to describe the ongoing depth and richness of the African-American experience? I need atleast 3 examples....I am just not good with ogies and I'm pretty sure im making it harder than it is but i could really use the help please and Thank you
