Why do some recessed lights randomly shut off?

I have 2 recessed "high-hat" lights in my basement bathroom. They seem to randomly shut themselves off and then turn back on. They are on the same switch, but shut off at different times. Are they overheating then cooling down and coming back on? There is no insulation near them.
