What do people from ex-Soviet-Block countries think of US cons distrust of anything slightly "socialist"?

The socialist countries have over time created a workforce unable to compete globally. Second rate work, poor to pitiful productivity, mediocre education opportunities. It has been that way for so long that generations expect mediocrity, expect being cared for, and expect little or nothing in the form of simple pleasures.What do they think of Conservatives distrust of anything Socialist? My guess their perspective is so sketchy of the situation here that their opinion would matter little.
